Preparation Rules for Ceramic Inlays and Partial Crowns
Hutsky, Andre / Frankenberger, Roland
A ceramic inlay or partial crown preparation looks simple. The rules and requirements associated with preparation are often as equally diverse as with cast restorations. Ceramic inlays have become successfully established. In addition to laboratory-fabricated ceramic units, adhesive-retained allceramic inlays and onlays milled from blocks also have an impressively long life in situ: according to the results of an extensive meta study, next to cast gold restorations milled ceramic inlays have the second lowest annual failure rate and are therefore rated above laboratory-fabricated ceramic restorations, composites and amalgam.
